No Commute, Commute

Good-bye to the half hour commute. I don't miss it one bit.

Since my last posting, I've taken up a new job. I'm looking for one. I got laid off, joining the more than four million other Americans chucked from their jobs.

So my commute is, well, the no commute, commute. I've lowered my carbon footprint in a big way.

Instead of traipsing to Midtown via MARTA or sometimes in my car, I'm walking to my desk in my home office. It's now a race with myself to see how many weeks I can go without filling up my gas tank. My ZipCar card is also neatly stashed away in my purse that I use less and less.

What a way to start the spring and I'm flush with the fever.

This is an opportunity to look for jobs that are IMBY - in my back yard.

Until the next one comes, I'm taking up my passion again. I'm writing about things I love most.

Who knows, maybe the no commute, commute will stick!
